HSTE: February Challenge

February 14, 2021

We are excited to announce the HSTE EDTeach monthly challenge, in partnership with the Hawaii Distance Learning Forum and the Hawai’i Department of Education Office of Talent and Management! Each month, Hawai’i teachers from all public, private and charter schools can send in their lesson plans or activities to the Hawaii Distance Learning Forum’s website for a chance to win a $100 gift card from Amazon to support their classroom. Winner will share at a Peer-to-Peer Power Session.

For the month of February, the theme is “Lead Learner.” Teachers should submit lessons or activities that meet ISTE’s Standard of Facilitator, where teachers “Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings” and students become the Lead Learner.

February ISTE Standard:

Facilitator: Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings

Prizes:

The winner will receive $100 Amazon gift card for their classroom

Winner will share at a Peer-to-Peer Power Session!

All entries are due by midnight on February 14, 2021 to the HDLF website. Winners will be announced soon after.

It’s important now, more than ever, for teachers to have the resources and space to collaborate with each other, share what we are doing, and see what’s possible. We hope that by our collective participation in these monthly challenges, we create a unique collection of resources that can be used by our teachers that are high quality educational experiences for our Hawai’i students. Please join us!

If you have any questions, please contact HSTE at sdenton@hste.org.
