During this pandemic, it’s evident that a focus on mental health issues has taken the forefront across all sectors (especially in schools). The sheer amount of change that students (and staff) are faced with, compounded with unpredictability and isolation is something that must be addressed.
Choose Love 2.0 (virtual conference) will feature teachers/staff sharing strategies and techniques used in a classroom, at a grade level, and even schoolwide with a focus on SEL and community building. This is not only about Choose Love, but more importantly the focus we must have in our classrooms and schools on dealing with the emotional well being of all. We are excited to include other Hawaii schools to showcase incredible strategies used in this hybrid mode!
Choose Love 2.0 – “Touching Hearts, Building Communities” will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 8:00 am – 12:30 pm. The first 300 people to register will get a FREE Classroom Starter Kit and all participants will get teaching tools they can use immediately plus a one-of-a-kind SEL virtual background and face mask! The cost is only $25 per person. (All proceeds from conference fees will go directly towards hosting the conference. POs are accepted)
Our featured speakers include: Scarlett Lewis and Chris Kukk! Besides the featured speakers, we are also partnering with Hawaii Teacher Fellows and SPEDucatos to feature some absolutely amazing guest presenters. Included in this day will be a gallery walk of what schools across the state are doing to handle this pandemic and cool ideas to ensure we continue to nurture mental health concerns.
